There are at least TEN (10) reasons we believe that QUANTUM SEAL COMPANY OF AMERICA (QUANTUM) offers better value than our major catalog competitors.
1) Every Type C (21), D (2), E (1) is double lapped. After the carbons are initially lapped under 3 light bands, the
carbons are relapped and polished after installation into the rotary head. This "value added" lapping process
assures that you will never receive a seal that does not exceed industry flatness standards. Quantum flatness
assures no leakage.
2) QUANTUM'S two competitors use NiResist cast iron for their standard metal seats. Ni-Resist rusts, pits and
cannot be used in corrosive environments. QUANTUM uses 316ss exclusively for all industry standard metal
seats. 316ss is slightly harder and does not pit or rust and may be used in many corrosive environments such
as salt water, food processing, and many chemical corrosives applications.
3) QUANTUM is the only catalog company that uses 316ss exclusively as our standard for all metal parts in our
Type E (1) rotaries. Our competitors offer 316ss as an extra cost option.
4) QUANTUM offers our Type E (1) and D (2) rotarires with optional AFLAS bellows.
5) QUANTUM offers our entire product line of types C (21), D (2), E (1) rotaries available as an alternate machined
from 316ss bar stock in order to utilize PERFLOURELASTOMERS, TFE and GRAFFOIL as optional sealing
members.
6) The 2025 QUANTUM catalog is the largest and most comprehensive with more appliance OEM listings than
Flowserve or U.S. Seal. Quantum through our affiliate companies is also able to supply engineered seals for
any application.
7) In addition to our catalog listings of mainly imperial (inch) dimensions, QUANTUM offers seven (7) distinct
basic single spring METRIC designs with many more variations to EURO standards from 6mm to 100mm for
same day shipping. These are not in our catalog but will be in our separate EURO metric catalog that will be
available soon.
8) QUANTUM features "same day" shipping for all industry standard part numbers.
9) QUANTUM offers many single spring seals as standard product offerings that are either not available with
U.S. Seal or Flowserve or as expensive extra cost, long lead time options.
10) QUANTUM furnishes many single spring seals that have been dropped from the product lines of U.S. Seal or
Flowserve. QUANTUM does not obsolete seals and all seals shown as obsolete or discontinued by our
competitors are available from QUANTUM.
